So I finally got to visit the store in West Thurrock today.

I’m going to do a full write up about my experience (with photos) later.

In a nutshell, it was amazing.

So yesterday saw the grand opening of the UK’s first Best Buy and what an opening it was. I don’t have a lot of stats about the first day but I have some.

For example, over 1,000 people were outside to watch the ribbon get cut at 7am, an amazing turn out if you ask me. The two most popular deals were ALL snapped up by the end of the day.

By far the more popular was the 32″ Toshiba TV at the bargain price of £179.99 – 1600 were sold in the first three hours, with the remaining 50 going not long after. I can only guess that Saturday’s delivery had all gone too.
The second deal was a black Nintendo Wii for £99.99 – Again, all gone in the first day.

The blueshirts and Geek Squad agents were prepped and ready for the big day. Even going as far as singing and dancing before the doors were opened.

I’m in London as I write this and I’m quite excited about visiting the store in the morning. I’m going to spend some time with the Geek Squad CIA’s, before hopefully meeting Kam (the store’s GM) and then I’ll be spending some money on one or two gadgets.
