Freeview on the iPad

I’ve just found the beta of TVCatchup (@TVCatchup) for the iPad.

TVCatchup is a great service where you can pretty much watch anything that’s on freeview… Live.

This works on iPhone really well and I believe it’s also available for pretty much any platform! Including good ol’ flash.

The iPad version works like a charm. Nicely filling the screen with your options on what to watch and when you tap, the video’s there.

iPad Warning

As readers may already know, I’m the proud owner of a new shiny, tablety, iPad.

I’ll be doing a full overview shortly, including roundups of all the accessories.

In the meantime, I’ll be posting several screenshots of different things I find.

So some advance warning that this here blog shall be overloaded with iPad greatness soon!

Absence

It makes the heart grow fonder. I’ve not blogged for a while but I’m off tomorrow, so I’ll make up for it.

I’ve got some write-ups to, well write (it’s for geek club) then I can turn all my attention to those draft blog posts that have been sat here for days.

Super8 Beaten

So the trailer for JJ Abrams’ latest epic was released the other day, and a good friend Scott (@scottwardle77 ) put me on to a secret message.

If you slow it down, the letters at the end spell out SCARIESTTHINGIEVERSAW – Which leads to http://www.scariestthingieversaw.com/

After talking over some more, I noticed that the number was rising every six seconds… Our numbers were the same too… I had to calculate this.

  • At the time of working this out, my number was on 114277
  • The target number was 134640
  • The difference is 20340
  • Every six seconds meant 122,040 seconds until the download is complete.
  • That’s 33.9 hours. Approximately.
  • That’s a countdown to 00:59, May 13th (PST or LA time)

There’s my prediction… We’ll get the next glimpse into JJ Abrams’ much awaited thriller/horror/shocker/alien-movie/nothingtodowithCloverfield EPIC of a movie.
