So Apple have announced the release date (28th May) and the price for the iPad for us patient UK users.
Apple’s price for the 16GB version of the Wi-Fi only iPad is £429 (including VAT) while the 32GB version is £499 and 64GB is £599.
For the Wi-Fi and 3G version of the iPad, the 16GB device will be £529 (including VAT), the 32GB device £599 and the largest 64GB Wi-Fi and 3G iPad will be £699.
A bit pricier than I was expecting, and although I’ve saved enough – I did want to use the extra towards accessories… I’ll have to wait [for the extras] now though.

Disappointing, I expected around £350. Something about breaking the £400 price point makes me question whether I really NEED one.
I was thinking the same to be honest. I was expecting not far off those prices for the 3G version… It’s a shame.
When you actually work it out, it’s funny – It’s because of VAT!
If you take the 17.5% off the price, then take off an average US Sales Tax, they’re not far off!
